Starting in 1995 through the year 2000, ECW pioneered the concept of fan Q&A sessions in the early afternoon before the main show later in the evening. Starting in 1996 this led to the annual Cyberslam show + pre-show Q&A session; and this is where fans organized via their internet groups (the old rec.sport.pro-wrestling RSPW and other Usenet groups, AOL chats, Prodigy chats, and more). The Q&A sessions were organized by ECW fan Tom Misnik and other fans who helped the company gain national, and international, presence in what the then-emerging internet – including the company’s official website (this site: ECWwrestling.com), ECWnews.com, and others.

During the last Q&A session in early 2000, Rob Van Dam was presented with the 1999 ECW Wrestler of the Year award. Earlier this week, RVD upload the clip of this session on his official YouTube channel here:
