Request Of ECW Fans

If you have time, please consider helping this website improve the accuracy of the all-time roster of people associated with ECW. This would account for the era before and during the early days of Eastern Championship Wrestling (formation January 1992 and first show in February 1992) all the way through the last show in Arkansas (January 13, 2001) and anything afterward.

Later on the Alumni page will be segmented better into individual wrestlers, valets & managers, tag teams / stables, referees, ring announcers & timekeepers, backstage help and video production crew, those who worked in running the company and more.

• Some of the TV production people from both the Eastern as well as Extreme eras
• Those who helped on the ECW websites, both the official ECWwrestling.com one as well as those run by fans which were mentioned favorably by the company
• Those whose only appearance in ECW was on a joint-promotion “super show”, such as the November 1993 show in Maryland or the ECW-FMW shows in Japan likely will be noted with an asterisk. The same would apply for any names who only appeared on Terry Funk’s Wrestle Fest in 1997 despite the show being promoted by ECW and commentary done by Joey Styles

There also are duplicates in some instances as well as derivations of the same name such as “Damien Stone” and “Damion Stone” — both names preceding Little Guido who finally became Guido Maritato. Duplicate names will be removed and derivation names will have their own pages, but link directly to the most commonly-associated name for that person during his/her time in ECW.

Thank you for your assistance as this website aims to be a repository of accurate information pertaining to all things related to ECW. Some content, such as attendance numbers and match history, are better served currently through outside websites – so those will be referenced in more obvious locations on the website in future updates.

Finally, please send your suggestions on how best to keep original ECW fans – such as those who attended shows from 1992 through 2001 – engaged with the company as well as new wrestling fans who weren’t yet born by the time the company stopped running shows.

There are some new technologies which can help preserve memories, get fans excited to learn about the matches & promos & other events which took place, and more. Here are some ideas for potential exploration later:

• Metaverse of the ECW Arena, Elks Lodge in Queens, Hammerstein Ballroom, or other venues where fans can meet and talk about ECW together
• A private ECW fans-only community, likely “token gated” by NFTs, with exclusive ECW content
• Rewarding loyal fans who went to shows back then by placing their photos & memories on virtual real estate tied to the specific arena or venue where they saw ECW with their friends
• Augmented Reality images of ECW fans & wrestlers outside the buildings so fans can see themselves (through their phones) as they looked back then while visiting the venues where they saw ECW shows
• Finishing up “unfinished business” such as voting on the 2001 “wrestler of the year” despite there being only 3 shows that year. This voting could be done on the blockchain in order to lock in voting with public transparency
• Other topics which can reinvigorate the fans who made ECW so special
