During the promotion’s combined run from 1992 to 2001 (as Eastern Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling), ECW had six different titles. 7 2 Cold Scorpio’s manager Woman signed a contract placing Scorpio’s World TV championship and the World Tag Team championships at stake. After Mikey won the championships, Cactus Jack entered the ring and assumed half of the World Tag Team Championships.
8 The Dudley Boys were named ECW World Tag Team champions after Mustafa could not compete due to injuries sustained in an attack by the Dudleys.
9 This was a Three Way Dance with Masato Tanaka & Tommy Dreamer
10 This was a one night Tournament which started out with twelve teams. Once it broke down into three remaining teams (Jerry Lynn & Tommy Dreamer and Simon Diamond & Swinger being the other two) they battled in a Three Way Dance for the vacated Championships.
FTW Championship History
Taz introduced the FTW Championship in Queens, NY (Elks Lodge) at the “It Ain’t Seinfeld” show on May 14, 1998.
Sabu won it from Taz at the ECW Arena on December 19, 1998 (a Three Way Dance match which included Justin Credible).
Taz then won back the title on March 21, 1999 Living Dangerously pay per view event in his match against Sabu. This unified the FTW Championship with the ECW World Heavyweight Championship.
The FTW title is not defended again during the rest of ECW’s history.
ECW Maryland Championship
This title was simultaneously known as the NWA Maryland Heavyweight Championship during the Eastern Championship Wrestling affiliation with the NWA.
JT Smith won the title in a battle royal on October 16, 1993. Title retired in early 1994
ECW Pennsylvania Championship
This title was simultaneously known as the NWA Pennsylvania Heavyweight Championship during the Eastern Championship Wrestling affiliation with the NWA.
Tommy Cairo won a battle royal on May 14, 1993 at the ECW Arena to become the first champion
Tony Stetson won the title on August 7, 1993 at the ECW Arena. He was the last champion as the title was retired in September 1993.
