First Wrestler To Win ECW TV Championship In Both Eastern And Extreme Eras

February 23, 2023 by ECW Website

ECW Trivia Question

The transition from Eastern Championship Wrestling to Extreme Championship Wrestling took place in late August 1994, the day after Shane Douglas won the NWA world heavyweight championship tournament. He then threw down the NWA (Eastern) title and proclaimed his Eastern Championship Wrestling title to be “Extreme”.

Who was the first wrestler to win the ECW Television Championship at least two times, winning it at least once in each era: Eastern (February 1992 to late August 1994) and Extreme (late August 1994 to January 2001)?

Answer: Mikey Whipwreck. He won it on May 13, 1994 (Eastern era) and then won it again on December 28, 1995 (Extreme era).

Al Snow’s Original Opponent At Living Dangerously 1998

February 20, 2023 by ECW Website

ECW Trivia Question

At the end of the Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Taz match at Living Dangerously 1998 (PPV from Asbury Park, New Jersey), the ring had the hole in it so to “buy time” Paul Heyman and Joey Styles announced the showing of the match from earlier in the night of Sabu vs. Sandman. This was the match prior to the main event tag team match featuring Shane Douglas and Chris Candido vs. Lance Storm and a mystery tag team partner. The partner at first was announced as Sunny (Tammy Lynn Sytch), but later became Al Snow (with Head) during the match.

The match prior to the main event, however, was briefly announced by Joey Styles as Al Snow in a singles match against an opponent. Who was that announced original opponent?

Answer:

John Kronus
