According to the website, here were the rules:

ECW Hardcore Revolution Create-A-Wrestler Contest Rules:

1. Acclaim’s ECW Hardcore Revolution Create-A-Wrestler Contest is offering gamers the chance to win collectible ECW prizes. The prizes include autographed strategy guides, copies of the new ECW video game, and a video game console.
2. Contestants must use ECW Hardcore Revolution’s Create-A-Wrestler feature to build a complete wrestler for submission to the ECW Hardcore Revolution Create-A-Wrestler contest.
3. Four contest submissions (create a wrestlers) will be chosen at random each week to compete in a “Battle Royal.”
4. There will be a “Battle Royal” each Tuesday for the eight consecutive weeks after the start date of the contest.
5. All submissions chosen for the “Battle Royal” will be posted on HardcoreRevolution.Com every Tuesday with a QuickTime highlight of the match.
6. After eight weeks, the winners of each “Battle Royal” will compete in the Create-A-Wrestler Tournament to decide the Grand Prize winner. This will take place on Tuesday, May 16.
7. The Create A Wrestler tournament will consist of 3 matches: Match one will pit the winners from the first four weeks against each other in a “Battle Royal.” Match two is will pit the winners from the last four weeks against each other in a “Battle Royal. Match three will pit the winner of match one vs the winner of match two in a one fall, no time limit, barbed-wire match.
8. To participate in the ECW Hardcore Revolution Create-A-Wrestler contest, entrants must fill out the registration form on the ECW Hardcore Revolution Website.
9. All entrants and contest winners must be 17 years or older.
10. If you are under 17 years old, your parents must register for you using their personal email address. Any entries submitted by anyone under 17 years old are ineligible and will be discarded.
11. Open to North American residents only.
12. Acclaim shall be not responsible for lost, illegible, misdirected, misdelivered or incomplete entries.
13. Contest begins March 21, 2000 and ends May 16, 2000.
14. Contest winners will be notified by email, no later than June 30, 2000.
15. Prizes will be awarded no later than December 31, 2000.
16. Entrants must provide a working email address. Acclaim will attempt to notify each winner twice. If a response is not received within one week of the second notification, another entrant will be randomly selected as a replacement winner.
17. Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize: The winner of the ECW Hardcore Revolution Create-A-Wrestler contest will receive one video game console (winner’s choice of Nintendo 64, PlayStation, or Dreamcast only), a copy of the next ECW wrestling game, an autographed strategy guide, and four Acclaim video games (of the winner’s choice). One (1) Second Prizes: One copy of the next ECW video game and an autographed strategy guide. Six (6) Third Prizes: One autographed strategy guide.
18. No purchase necessary.
19. There are no prize or cash substitutions.
20. Limit one prize per household.
21. Employees and their immediate families of Acclaim, and their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries or agencies are ineligible to participate in this contest.
22. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
23. This contest is subject to all Federal, State and local law.
24. All Federal, State or other tax liabilities arising from this contest will be the responsibility of contest prizewinners and not Acclaim.
25. All contest winners will be required to execute a release granting permission to use their names, photographs and likeness for purposes of advertising and promotion on behalf of Acclaim without compensation.

Entrants agree that Acclaim and their respective employees, immediate families, parents, affiliates, subsidiaries or agencies shall not be liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from acceptance or use of prizes. All contest winners will be required to execute forms releasing Acclaim and their respective employees, parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and agencies from any and all such liabilities prior to receiving any prizes.

As a first time contributor to this space, I feel obligated to say thank you to Hugh Jass for providing me with non-stop aggravation. As if this contest didn’t require most of my concentration, I was annoyingly bombarded by questions like “Do I look fat in this?,” and “Do these pants match?” I tell you, it was too much to handle. Where was I? Ah…the contest winner. The name, Asmodius. The wrestler, Scorpius. The victory, theirs. Having done all the screenshots and videos for this contest I can honestly say that this was one epic battle from the first week to the last. It almost wiped me out. I’m still standing though, so congratulations to all the participants. Click here to see the final results and who won what.
